Pay the Fine
Contact the court within 10 days from the date of the citation to arrange payment details.
Anyone under age 18 opting to do Driving Safety Course or Deferred Disposition MUST complete DPS Road Test for moving violations.
Take Driving Safety Course
Remit $130.00 in form of Cashier's Check or money order payable to the City of Mineola within 30 days from the date of citation
Send copy of Driver's License and Proof of Insurance
Take course within 90 days from date of citation and submit signed Court Copy Certificate once received
Request Deferred Disposition
Remit the fine and court cost in the form of a cashier's check or money order payable to the City of Mineola within 30 days from the date of citation (contact the court for amount due)
If under the age of 25, must also take driving safety course for moving violations
Must have no moving violations within 90 days of deferred period. Last week must order Driving History Statement from TXDPS website (Type 2A) and submit to the court
Or for car insurance deferred, must present proof of insurance and must have insurance for the 90 days
The following are Ineligible for Driving Safety Course:
CDL holders
Passing a school bus
Failure to stop or render aid
Improper or erratic lane change
Construction zone if workers were present
Speeding 25 MPH or more over posted speed limit
Offense involving an accident or injury
Driving in excess over 15 MPH over the posted speed limit in inclement weather
Traffic violation involving fatal accident
Following too close
The following are Ineligible for Deferred Disposition:
Construction zone violations if workers were present
CDL Holders
Speeding 25 MPH or more over posted speed limit
