Reminder that today (May 4th) is Election Day for City Council Ward 3 and Mineola ISD School Board. These elections are conducted at City Hall from 7 am until 7 pm.
Wow! What a fantastic Saturday in Mineola!!!!! It all starts early at the Mineola Nature Preserve with the May Fiesta 5K, 10K, 15K at 8:00 am with the fantastic Freedom Runners. Don't forget opening day of the Mineola Farmers Market from 8:00 until 1:00. Then, downtown from 10:00 until 4:00, its the annual Mineola Chamber of Commerce Fiesta de Mayo. Food, live entertainment, vendors, contests and more! And certainly don't forget about the Mini Train at Iron Horse Square from 11:00 until 3:00. And all of the usual shopping and amazing eateries and sweets. Don't forget to vote at City Hall from 7:00 am until 7:00 pm. It's a good place to be!

A wonderful tradition! Starting Music in May with Blue Mudbone! Tonight (May 2nd) at the Gazebo on Commerce Street from 6:30-8:30! It's a great kick off to this year's season, and it looks like we've missed any weather!
Bring your chair (or set up at the new 1888 plaza), refreshments, food from nearby restaurants and enjoy one of the most unique entertainments environments in Texas. We don't even mind the train. See you on the bricks at 6:30! - If the weather returns, we'll head over to The Texan Hall by Jorgies and keep it going!

Harry the Mini Train and volunteers will be delivering some fun times on the FIESTA TRAIN at Iron Horse Square this Saturday during Fiesta de Mayo! The Mini Train will run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and rides are FREE! We do gratefully accept donations and sell train souvenirs from the front of the Mini Depot! Come see us!

IT'S TIME!!! Join the City of Mineola, the Mineola Meredith Foundation, and the Mineola Economic Development Corporation as we officially open the 1888 Plaza in downtown. The ribbon cutting ceremony will be at 9:00 am on Saturday, April 27th at the Plaza located at 121 South Johnson Street.
Early voting begins Monday, April 22nd through Friday, April 26th, and again on Monday, April 29th through April 30th. Elections will be held for one alderman on the Mineola City Council - Ward 3, and one position on the Mineola ISD school board. These elections will be conducted by the Wood County Elections Department at 200 W. Bermuda St. in Quitman from 8 am until 5 pm. The general election is on May 4th at Mineola City Hall from 7 am until 7 pm.
You might find a deal this weekend! Set among picturesque ranches and rural farmland, the Historic US 80 Hwy Sale gathers hundreds of vendors in pockets along the route. The event stretches nearly 400 miles from Mesquite, Texas through Louisiana to Jackson, Mississippi. Organized by the East Texas Tourism Association, towns along the Texas portion of the trail can be especially active participants. Visitors can find all kinds of antiques, collectibles and yard sale items.
Twice a year, on the third weekend of April and October.
For those interested in setting up shop, there is no requirement to register as an official vendor. According to the website, "Anyone can be a vendor by simply having a yard sale in their yard, in their business, or by setting up in designated vendor locations.
This Saturday's Junk in the Trunk event at the Mineola Civic Center has been rescheduled due to weather. It will now be on June 1st.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide courteous and effective customer service in person, over the phone, and in writing.
Address customer inquiries regarding utility accounts, services, and city departments.
Processes utility payments and manage cash receipts.
Handle connect and disconnect orders for water and wastewater services.
Operate computer systems for billing and data management.
Conduct data entry tasks accurately and efficiently.
Assist in routine accounting functions.
Perform clerical duties such as filing, sorting, and document retrieval.
Take reservation calls for the Mineola Nature Preserve Park.
